Lucky Seven

Nine months in cozy womb

Now thrust into a world unknown

On seventh July nineteen seventy seven

A beautiful girl, they exclaim

What a lucky baby, lucky sevens

All the way

Mum’s songs painted a picture of

A midnight blue roof

Sparkling with glittering jets

Silken butterflies in a quest for sweet honey

Resting their svelte feet on velvet petals

Ivory pearls on an ocean bed

Guarded by stately sea horses

What are these treasures

Compared to the warmth of

A mother’s bosom

And the gentle tick of her heartbeat

Music which lulled me to sleep

For nine months

A warm July morning in Sendai

Third week in this unknown city

The people in similar attire

Walking hurriedly

Looked different

Their language, food,

Customs and sign boards

All were alien to me

The only consolation was

Multi colored cosmos flowers

And hydrangeas

By the roadside to the campus

Which filled my heart with inexplicable joy

It is in the same time of each year

That they bloomed

In our garden

It was like meeting

A long lost friend

In this unknown land

Words Do Hurt

Words are of no use
When even feelings are obscure
Going through darkness marks by scars
Just as permanent markers
Forever engraving on our skin and in our mind the followed path
Emerging unscathed is too good to be true
Bad experiences are instructive they say
At a point they destroy us
As time passes by
Until nothing matters anymore…

The Distance

Sometimes I just wonder why

Why is it that the only person who truly care about me appears to be across the world

Why is it that you don’t get to see what you truly mean to me

Words just don’t seem to express nothing much

Maybe that’s why it’s so hard writing feelings down

I’ve learned it the hard way, but eventually I found a purpose to live

You give me a reason to wake up every morning,

A reason to expect something of my life…

Living apart isn’t easy, it will never be

But you make it worth it

You give me all I need and so much more

There’s nothing I can and there’s nothing I will ask more

Every day I think about what to tell you

Words just never seem to be strong enough

Nothing can describe the feeling of knowing that you always have someone by your side

When nobody is to be seen…

Faces many he has at his disposal,

And displays his choicest at any given time,

As deftly as any of his ilk

Pearly white teeth uttering sweet nothings,

Ears pricked at invective hurled at him,

Bloodshot eyes screaming murder and mayhem,

Pinky nostrils wide, sniffing blood yet to be shed,

Ruddy lips full, making the face serene,

High and mighty he epitomizes his five-headed

counter part…

My hopeless days

I yearn to lit up

Enthralled

By children’s

Lively faces

Sparkling

With myriad of

Bright colors

Revealing enigmatically

An ancient and sure recipe

An assuring elixir of life…

The Ruler

Come morning

Perched on the tree

This Bulbul and her family of two

Twitters beautiful tunes

She teaches her little ones

She then pecks the soil

Looking for worms

To feed her young

Come evening

She takes refuge in the tree

And by her incessant chirping

And hopping

She chases away the others

We have come for refuge on her tree

Everything is quiet

I take a peep

The mother, with one eye open

Watches over her brood

While they with their eyes shut tight

Doze away

She is the ruler

A True Ruler

Who is a ruler – a real, true ruler?

Someone who does not lie and cheat

Someone who tells the truth and actually cares,

A person who does not practice deceit

Why do we have rulers that do not believe,

That goodness and humbleness are valued and true

Why do we have rulers that try to reach the sun?

True leaders are but a chosen few

Who among you today deserve a place on the throne,

Who among you really gives and shares speedily

Maybe those who deserve the glory and riches,

Are the ones who do not seek it so greedily…

Your love spread to every nook and corner of my heart

Then, our love grew in leaps and bounds

“Where do you keep this much of love?”

I asked you one day,

You just smiled

But that smile said a lot

I’m proud about you, me and our love

My heart is beating,

Only for you…

My smile is always,

Searching for you

So, I’m eagerly waiting for

The greatest and the happiest moment

Can you imagine?

The auspicious time, blessings

Greetings, smile and so on…

How wonderful!

Everything of mine is

Waiting for you…

One day our story will also be written as

“They lived happily ever after!”

Live for the day!

Yesterday was history

Which brought today’s victory

Tomorrow is a mystery

Which could lead to a contingency…

Never think of tomorrow’s mystery

Within this short time u have

Take today as yours and

Leave tomorrow to others…
